Wern Oleu is a working smallholding set in beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Llanfechain village in mid Wales.
We are a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site (CS) licenced to open all year round, weather permitting, for five caravans or motorhomes, or up to ten small tents. Our hideaway site is a stunning location ideal for getting away from it all.
Wern Oleu offers the perfect haven for walkers with a wealth of public footpaths. Close to the public footpath that you can access directly from the Site is a large stone and plaque marking the birth place of Welsh Bard Gwallter Mechain (Walter Davies). Within a couple of minutes walk are the earthwork remains of Domen Gastell, the earthwork and timber castle of the motte and bailey form.
There are three pubs within walking distance, with the Plas Yn Dinas just 10 minutes walk away in the village along with a community shop which is open every day.
For local trips out we are close to Powis Castle, Lake Vyrnwy, Llangollen and Pistyll Rhaeadr the highest waterfall in Wales .
We hope you enjoy browsing our site and we look forward to welcoming you to Wern Oleu.
